MMC 005 New Parents Survival Kit - Comment line 714-855-2501

This is the first half of our conversation on a survival kit for new parents. We go through the comments left on Paul Fischer’s blog asking What do you really need for a “newborn starter kit”? As always, we talk a lot. So in this episode we hit the highlights of the comments made on his post, adding our own opinions along the way. In the second half (episode 6) we talk about the responses we received when we posed the question to our mommy group.
Below are links not mentioned on Paul’s blog but were brought up in our discussion.

Hi Ladies!
Thank you so much for including me on your show!!
(We are big Disney fans- baby care centers are available in FL too.)
What my kids love also are the evening babysitting “clubs” available- my kids still want to go when we are at Disney! They are available for people staying “on property” at a few of the hotels, including The Yacht and Beach Club and Boardwalk. There are others, but that’s what we do most often.
Your podcasts are sure a lot of fun! Thanks for mentioning the Halo SleepSack and Swaddle!! Just one minor correction, though. They are only available in sleeveless variety because bulky sleeves represent a carbon dioxide rebreathing potential if they were to place their arm near their nose AND they are more likely to overheat. It’s also just easier to get a baby in and out of a sleeveless sack.
Just adjust undergarments and/or SleepSack fabric for comfort.
Thanks, again, and keep up the good work!!
Hi Whitney,
Happy to mention the LD Podcast. I think your show is a valuable resource for families dealing with Learning Disabilities.
Since we are local we never stay “on property” so I didn’t know about the baby sitting clubs. Thanks for the info.
Love that you mentioned the Halo sleepsack - we couldn’t live without it! I sleep better knowing she is safe and am so glad you know about it and are telling folks. Great site and great podcast! i can’t wait to keep listening in! And i SO love your mantra - i too am a fellow mean Mama -just of the the SOUTHERN variety!
take care ya’ll!

Excellent post. Could not have said it any better myself. Hat’s off to a post well said.
